At the Theo Pouw Group, we work every day to ensure that large quantities of construction and raw materials are efficiently transported by road and water to our locations and customers.
For our Utrecht office, we are looking for a water transport planner to ensure this process runs smoothly. In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day coordination of our inland waterway transport operations and will have frequent contact with boat captains, customers, and colleagues.
What are you going to do?
As a planner, you ensure that our ships are deployed efficiently. Due to various circumstances, such as weather conditions and changes in the schedule, things don’t always go as planned. You see this as a challenge and are able to adapt quickly when situations change.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Order processing;
- Coordinate inland waterway shipments and serve as the point of contact for boat operators;
- Coordinating the flow of raw materials between locations and to customers;
- Maintain contact with various clients and internal departments;
- Troubleshooting common problems;
- Preparing reports and performing other administrative tasks.
Being available outside of office hours is part of the job.
What are we asking?
You are proactive and have strong problem-solving skills. You remain calm in stressful situations. Working on a computer is no problem for you. You are a good communicator and get along well with others. You also bring the following:
- An MBO diploma, preferably in shipping or logistics;
- Proficiency in the Dutch language, both spoken and written;
- Geographical knowledge;
- Driver's license B

A one-year contract for 40 hours per week, with the prospect of permanent employment. Who are we?
Our location in Utrecht is a one-stop shop offering products and services for earthworks, road construction, hydraulic engineering, and concrete construction, ranging from primary raw materials and secondary building materials to the processing of construction and demolition waste, soil cleaning, and the deployment of transport equipment, cranes, and shovels. In addition to producing high-quality concrete, we also coordinate the transport of building materials and manage the collection and processing of contaminated soil and construction and demolition waste. The operational processes are supported by various departments such as Sales, Environment, Transport Planning, KAM, Finance, IT, HR, and PR.
