Alex has been working as a chef in our company restaurant at the Eemshaven site since 2009. When his second child was on the way, Alex wanted to leave the hospitality industry because the working hours were not ideal. His mother-in-law told him about the vacancy for a chef, which would allow him to work during office hours.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Alex performed replacement tasks because the company restaurant was closed. These ranged from sorting work to cleaning retaining walls. During this period, Alex gained a good understanding of what goes on outside the site and within the organization. This has led to greater mutual respect among colleagues. Alex looks back on this period with fond memories.

Alex likes to be given freedom in his work. If you do your job well and take it seriously, the Theo Pouw Groep gives you the freedom to carry out your work. The open kitchen is located directly in the central hall of the office in Eemshaven. This means there is a lot of contact with all colleagues and guests.
