Klaas studied for a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. On LinkedIn, he saw a suitable internship at the Theo Pouw Groep and subsequently progressed to Head of Process Technology. When Klaas started his internship on Wednesday, he was invited to the first company party on Saturday. He was not used to this, as interns were not usually allowed to attend such parties. This gave him the feeling of a small company due to the personal touch, even though it is actually a large company.
Klaas feels that he is given a lot of freedom and that initiatives are encouraged. There is no top-down policy, but rather room for well-founded ideas to be contributed.
The Theo Pouw Groep operates in a sustainable sector in terms of waste processing and is a producer of high-quality secondary building materials. Klaas has close ties with colleagues on the work floor, operators, and shift supervisors. Klaas believes that we really do work together as a team.
Klaas experiences a close-knit corporate culture and appreciates the involvement of the management. They know what is going on and express their appreciation.

What would you say to someone considering working for the Theo Pouw Groep?
I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, because not everyone can handle the freedom. Sometimes it's ad hoc work, but that's part of a dynamic company. If it suits you, Klaas would recommend it to anyone.
